Lavonne Beauty

Born and raised in Orange County, Lavonne left California at 17 to live in New York. Her father’s love for Diana Ross and his zealous obsession with fashion, she found herself submerged in a new world of culture and art. Upon returning to the West Coast, she was at an intersection…to pursue her dream of child education or her natural born artistic ability. After an opportunity to attend the MTV Music Awards as a talent escort, the decision was made. She enrolled at the Empire Academy of Makeup a year after their doors opened in 1998 and she realized she found her niche.

She is known for her knack to anticipate the needs of her clients, models, photographers and directors by always having that “1” thing you may need in her kit. Lavonne’s clients have included Nordstrom, Teen Vogue, Versace, Mercedes-Benz, Kerry Washington, Ambyr Childers, Patricia Heaton, The Bare Naked Ladies, Sean William Scott and Omar Epps. She has also collaborated on music videos for Macy Gray, The White Stripes, Common and Rise Against.

Lavonne went on to work for MakeUpForEver, Shu Uemura, Giorgio Armani and MAC cosmetics. Through her training she fine tuned her skills and headed back to New York to tackle Olympus Fashion Week. Now based in Southern California, she works as a freelance artist doing makeup and hair styling.
