| Lavonne began her career studying Early Childhood Education and was planning to open a 24 hour child care center. But after an opportunity to work at the MTV Music Awards she made the decision to leave the daycare blueprints behind. In 1998, she enrolled at Empire Academy of Makeup in Southern California. She then went on to work for Make Up For Ever, Shu Uemura, MAC Cosmetics, Smashbox, YSL and Giorgio Armani. Through her training, she fine tuned her skills and resided between New York and California for several years and then traveled to Europe. Her clients have included Mercedes-Benz, Vogue, Versace, Amtrak and Nordstrom. She has worked with Kerry Washington, Patricia Heaton and The Bare Naked Ladies. Also collaborated on music videos for Macy Gray, The White Stripes, Common and Rise Against. Most recently she worked on Pat McGrath's team in Paris for the Givenchy, Lanvin and Louis Vuitton shows. Lavonne continues to be motivated and inspired by working with an exceptional crew of photographers, wardrobe stylists, makeup artists and hair stylists. "I feel that when you do someone's makeup you have to take the epitomy of beauty and transfer that knowledge and skill to your client's canvas." Lavonne currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. |
